Definition of shock and types of shock.

Introduction.

Shock is suddenly happening condition which occurs when our body is not getting proper blood supply. When lack of blood supply of our body cells and organs do not get enough oxygen and nutrients to properly. It may result as organ damage. In this state circulatory system is not work properly.

Definition of shock.

Shock is defined as the state of lack of blood flow to the circulatory system or inadequate oxygen utilization.

The shock can permanent organ damage or even death.

Types of shock.

The main types of shock includes-

Shock

#1. Cardiogenic shock.

Cardiogenic shock also known as cardiac shock. It occurs when the heart can not pump the enough amount of blood oxygen to the brain.

Causes of cardiogenic shock.

The cardiogenic shock includes-

  • Heart failure
  • Chest injuries
  • Blood clots
  • Blood loss
  • Pulmonary embolism
  • Fluid buildup in the chest.

#2. Hypovolemic shock.

The hypovolemic shock means decreased blood flow in the body. It is one of the medical condition, which servere blood or other fluid loss to lead the heart is unable to function properly.

Causes of hypovolemic shock.

Blood loss can lead the hypovolemic shock.

  1. Bleeding from cuts
  2. Bleeding from other injuries
  3. Internal bleeding such as GIT
  4. Burns
  5. Diarrhea
  6. Significant vaginal bleeding
  7. Endometriosis.

#3. Anaphylactic shock.

Anaphylactic shock is an allergic reaction that can be lead to deadly if you don’t treat rightly.

Symptoms of anaphylactic shock.

It is includes-

  • Swelling of your mouth
  • Vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Rapid heartbeat.

#4. Septic shock.

The septic shock occurs when the body blood pressure very low and response to infection.

When responses to the infection and then body losses to control their response, it result various changes in the organ and even stop function of the organ.

Clinical manifestations of septic shock.

  1. Hypothermia
  2. Nausea and vomiting
  3. Bounding pulse
  4. Hypotension
  5. Comma, stupor
  6. Restlessness
  7. Weakness.

#5. Neurogenic shock.

Neurogenic shock is a medical condition which can lead slow the heart rhythm

Symptoms of neurogenic shock.

Symptoms of neurogenic shock include

  • Low blood supply
  • Lack of full consciousness.
